The N88L-1 Tri-Gauge Pit Gauge is todays most versatile Lever Pit Gauge, with its Metric and dual Imperial Scales. Additionally, the Tri-Gauge serves as a basic Weld Inspection Gauge for; Undercut Depth, Weld Crown Height, a Porosity (diameter) Comparator; and both Metric and Imperial Rules. The Tri-Gauge Pit Gauge is fitted with a Patented pointer Offset Correction for improved accuracy and repeatability. Lever Pit Gauges are intended to evaluate corrosion, and not as an absolute measuring tool.

The Western Instruments N88-2 Pit Depth Gauge is used to measure the Pit Depth or the amount of surface corrosion on metal constructions like pipelines, support structures, storage tanks, drill pipes, steel bridges, aircraft components or concrete structures. The N88-2 Pit Gauges assure compliance with vessel, pipeline, tank and OCTG specifications for corrosion and erosion depth measurement. The complete kit consists of an indicator, center-mount 2.5" (63.5 mm) blade, standard (N88-S) contact tip, conical (N88-C) contact tip, allen wrench (for adjustment), operator instructions, calibration certificate and carrying case.

The Bridging Pit Gauges is used to measure Dents and Buckles on Pipelines, Shell Settlement on Storage Tanks, etc. These various forms of Bridging Bars can utilize any of our exclusive Dial Indicators (Imperial, Metric, or Digital), with any of our Custom Engineered Contact Points. Western's advanced Bridging Pit Gauge System and our new Jr. Bridging Pit Gauge take over, where the capabilities of our standard Pit Gauges fall short, for evaluating large areas of Weight loss Corrosion. There are several important features to a Segmented Bridge, where various elements (Blades and Tees) are assembled to form a Bridging Bar. Firstly, they can be assembled to follow the contour of a slightly irregular surface. This contouring feature is important for Pipeline, Storage Tank, and Pressure Vessel inspections, where 'hills and valleys' always exist. Secondly, the models listed below are of a given length, however extra elements can be added to increase their over all length. As illustrated, these units can be assembled in Spanning or Cantilevering configurations, and finally, the Main Blade can be used individually for isolated or cone type Pitting.
